MOONSTAR

Moonstar is an iconic brand established in 1873. Based in the city of Kurume in western Japan, they use a multitude of traditional techniques to create high quality, ultra durable and comfortable footwear.

It is a creative and time-consuming process as the shoes are made from 100% cotton canvas, woven for 3 months using the “Kurume Kasuri” technique, then hand-assembled and covered with vulcanized rubber in a traditional process and finally fired in an oven. This rare process makes the materials stronger and more flexible and gives each shoe a unique finish that allows them to withstand all weather conditions.
